OrionNet Systems attended the
21st Annual Zarrow Mental Health Symposium on Thursday, September
17, 2015 at the COX Business Center
in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
"The conference was
really nice," said Herminia Wafford, vice-president of OrionNet Systems.
"This is OrionNet's first time going to this conference and I think it was
a great experience.”
The 21st Annual Zarrow Mental
Health Symposium’s theme this year explored Integrating Healthcare: Mind, Body
and Spirit, including opportunities under the Affordable Care Act for
transforming the mental and behavioral health system through new programs and
tools.
“The conference was a
wonderful networking opportunity,” said Tennia Hawkins, sales & business
development associate of OrionNet Systems. “We got to meet up with many of our
current clients and many new people as well. We had a great time.”
The objective of the 2015 Zarrow
Mental Health Symposium was to develop and enhance professional skills and
knowledge in the prevention, recognition, assessment and treatment of mental
health and substance abuse disorders. Discussion highlighted emerging
knowledge, best practices and innovative approaches to integrated care, with
emphasis on increased access to appropriate high quality prevention, intervention,
treatment, recovery, and wellness services and supports that impact the
relationship between health, behavioral health, and spiritual well-being across
the life-span, and inclusive of special populations and cultural/ethnic diversity.
Ethical considerations were also addressed.
“The facility was beautiful
and our booth was set up in a terrific location to see and talk with everyone,”
said Tennia Hawkins. “This is a wonder conference. It would be great to see
more people there next year.”
